The waffled weave of a favorite childhood blanket washed so often it has turned the color of a golden sunbeam streaming through an open window, the shiny green blades of grass that hide a pitted rusty piece of metal, the cause of a resulting tetanus shot, that takes me back to the idyllic summers spent working on a farm. The baby's blanket, the gnarled bark of a old tree, the pitted rusted metal of farm equipment long forgotten, the sheen reflected from a satin ring-bearers pillow. These are a few things that I’I have drawn creative inspiration from in the past.

As a very tactile person I find myself drawn to an objects texture whether I am experiencing it through the sense of an actual physical touch or trying to truthfully portray it in a visual representation on my computer monitor.

I draw on both my past experiences, and the feelings textures are capable of invoking in all of us, when striving to recreate the textures that recall past memories but use them in an unexpected manner.

I wish to leave the viewer shocked as their fingers bump the monitor as they see the glint of light and try to touch the jagged teeth of a rusty saw blade juxtaposed against the satin of a pillow. The glint of light off a saw tooth adding a bit of contrast to the muted sheen of the pillow the blade rests against, increasing the anxiety the viewer feels as the images on the screen fade away, leaving them to realize the environments they just experienced wasn't’t real. Invoking these feelings as well as the caused reactions are but a few of the reasons I create.

As a interactive designer I hope, through my creative processes, to produce work that not only influences and excites the viewer through their recalling a similar texture thus allowing them to share my vision but to make the feelings invoked a non-familiar reaction.

Hello,

After spending fourteen years as a graphic designer in a production environment I saw the handwriting on the wall, of the radical and far-reaching changes in methods the world would use to communicte. This urged me to return to the world of Acidamia in pursuit of a degree in Multimedia Design.

My Mission: To create non-traditional feeling from familiar textures, to produce art that cannot only be enjoyed visually but felt emotionally.

I strive in my design style to present the user with a simple, easy to navigate experience that both leads to a sense of immediate gratification and the desire to investigate further in search of what may be possible with a simple click or roll-over of the mouse

When my creative side cries “uncle”, I can most often be found enjoying the great outdoors, with either a camera or fishing rod in hand.

I have also been known to kill a few cones while autocrossing with the local sports car club
